Gemini Notebook
Source-grounded AI notebook from Google, formerly NotebookLM
Visit Gemini Notebook (opens in a new tab)Gemini Notebook, called NotebookLM until Google renamed it in July 2026, is an AI research notebook that works from material you supply. You add sources such as PDFs, documents, web pages or videos, and it answers questions with citations back to them, builds study guides and mind maps, and turns the material into slides or podcast-style Audio Overviews. Notebooks also sync with the Gemini app.
It suits students revising for exams, researchers working through a stack of papers and anyone who wants answers tied to specific documents rather than the open web. Because responses are grounded in your uploads, it is easier to check where a claim came from.
The free tier needs only a Google account and allows up to 50 sources per notebook, with daily limits on chats and generated content. Google AI subscriptions raise those limits, starting with Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month in the US, with Pro and Ultra going further. It runs on the web and has iOS and Android apps.
