GitHub Copilot
AI coding assistant for completions, chat and agents inside popular IDEs
Visit GitHub Copilot (opens in a new tab)GitHub Copilot is GitHub’s AI assistant for programmers. It suggests code as you type, answers questions in a chat panel, and can run in an agent mode that makes multi-file changes or works on assigned issues and opens pull requests. It plugs into many editors, including VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, Neovim and Eclipse, and is also available on github.com, in GitHub Mobile and as a command-line tool.
It fits developers who want AI help without changing editors, and teams already using GitHub, where it ties into repositories, pull requests and code review.
The free plan caps monthly completions and chat requests. Paid individual plans start at $10 a month (Pro), with Pro+ and Max tiers offering more premium-model requests, and separate Business and Enterprise plans for organisations. Some users may qualify for free access to paid features; see the plans page for eligibility.
