Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot is the consumer version of Microsoft’s AI assistant. It handles everyday chat tasks such as answering questions, drafting text, summarising pages and generating images, and it comes preinstalled on many Windows 11 PCs. Apps are also available for macOS, iOS and Android, and it works in the browser.

It is a natural fit for people who use Windows and Microsoft 365 at home, because paid subscriptions extend Copilot into Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. It should not be confused with Microsoft 365 Copilot for work accounts, which is a separate business product.

A limited free version is available, subject to capacity. Copilot features are bundled into Microsoft 365 Personal ($9.99 a month), Family ($12.99 a month) and Premium ($19.99 a month), with Premium offering the highest usage limits and extra agents. The separate Copilot Pro subscription is no longer sold.
